PLEX Fellowship Program builds skills for people with SCI to translate lived experience into research and innovation.
Training the Next Generation of PLEX Mentors
In 2024, Praxis launched the PLEX Fellowship Program, a first-of-its-kind initiative that empowers people with spinal cord injuries (SCI) to become leaders in research and innovation.
Building on Praxis’ pioneering work with Persons with Lived Experience (PLEX), the Fellowship equips participants with skills to meaningfully contribute to research, priority setting, and product development—ensuring the lived experience is central to progress in SCI care.
In its inaugural year, the program welcomed four Fellows. Through mentorship, training, and hands-on learning, the PLEX Fellowship prepares participants for professional roles in research, user engagement, and patient advocacy. As demand grows for lived experience expertise, Praxis is helping ensure people with SCI lead the way.
