Praxis leads global collaboration in spinal cord injury research, innovation and care. We use knowledge translation to bridge health evidence with real-world delivery, ensuring that the latest research and knowledge are utilized in health care.

Praxis is advancing optimal and equitable person-centered care. We accelerate the translation of evidence-based best practices, therapies and technologies to improve the health outcomes and quality of life for individuals living with spinal cord injuries (SCI).

Embedding the Expertise
of Lived Experience

Praxis takes a multi-disciplinary approach to transform ideas into better treatments for people with spinal cord injuries. We involve people with lived experience in all areas of our work to amplify the voices of the SCI community. Through initiatives like the PLEX Fellowship, PLEX engagement we advocate for systemic change and prioritize involving those with lived experience from the start to drive better outcomes.

Our approach across the spinal cord injury continuum, focus on the unique needs of individuals at every stage of their journey. From the point of injury, acute care to rehabilitation and community reintegration, we address key challenges to improve outcomes.

Praxis harnesses the power of networks by connecting, convening, and collaborating with leaders in spinal cord injury research, care and innovation. Through strategic partnerships with research and clinical networks, as well as innovator and PLEX networks, we create a change that accelerates progress. This collaborative approach fosters knowledge exchange, drives innovation, and leads to impactful solutions, improving outcomes for individuals with SCI as a whole.

Transforming SCI Outcomes Through Data and Technology

We use data as a key driver of change, developing data-driven algorithms and clinical tools. Through initiatives like the Praxis-led SCI National Registry (RHSCIR), INSCSCI, Ambulation app, machine learning, imaging repositories and biobanks we create solutions that enhance outcomes for individuals with SCI and accelerate research.

Driving Innovation

We work closely with MedTech entrepreneurs to accelerate the translation advancements in SCI treatment and research into meaningful innovations (devices, services, therapeutics) real-world impact. Praxis' strategic approach is validating the business and use case of novel technologies from commercial & clinical SMEs and end-users.
